Introduction
Public Relations Department, BCCL provides strategic and tactical communications services to the employees as well as all the stakeholders of the company according to the BCCL Media Plan. The PR Department mainly serves the company in the areas of brand promotions, interactive media management, advertisement projects, communication with stakeholders, and public relations. This Department tells the BCCL brand story to all audiences through traditional media, social media, print publications, video, and the web.
The Objective of the PR Department:
To enhance brand recognition and effectively communicate with the target audience through a well-planned media strategy that delivers the appropriate key message, at the correct time and place.
Key messages to be communicated:
BCCL’s media plan aims to communicate the key messages to its target audience, with the primary message being- “Fueling the Nation’s growth sustainably through Coking Coal with responsible mining practices.”
This key message emphasizes our unwavering commitment to fostering the growth of our nation by supplying essential coking coal to support the steel and other industrial sectors, all while ensuring a reliable source of energy. Furthermore, it underscores our relentless dedication to responsible and sustainable mining practices.

Responsibilities & Duties:
The PR department at BCCL undertakes the following responsibilities and regular duties to enhance brand awareness and engagement through various channels including print and electronic media, digital and TV advertising, outdoor advertising, social media campaigns, and various publications.
Liaison with Press & Media: Liaoning and coordination with Local, Regional and National Print, electronic and digital media houses for better coverage of important events & highlights of the
Issuing Press Releases: Routine Press Communications and Corrigendum of news to Press Media whenever
Publication: Publication of routine Notice/Court Notice/Fortnightly Common Window Advertisement for
Special ads: Releasing of Special Ads on special occasions in newspapers and various Souvenirs/magazines
Sponsorship: Sponsoring events and exhibitions, Seminars, Conferences, Business Talks, TV Programs/ Media events
Press Conferences: Organize and Co-ordinate Press Conferences as and when
Brand Building Campaigns: as per the BCCL Media plan and directives of the Ministry of Coal through the following manners:
Hoarding installation at command areas of BCCL HQ and
Publication of articles of BCCL FDs in Local/Regional/National
Conduction of Social Media Seminars in HQ and all
Promotion through short videos and
Social Media Management (Official Company Handles)
Conducting online meetings/workshops for coordination between all areas and the department’s social media Nodal
Publication of monthly newsletter (BCCL Darpan).
Measurement and Evaluation of PR activities: Regular tracking and evaluation of the BCCL media plan’s
Conducting Photography & Videography of important events of the
Facilitating monthly retirement ceremony (Samman Samaroh).
Preparation of BCCL Annual Media plan, Annual revenue Budget, Manpower budget and timely processing of the Vendor’s Bills
